Young person with carer

Our Training

As a research group we adopted a Heart, Head hand approach to analysing the data and translating this into a training package.

The Heart, Head, Hand approach is a holistic and integrated approach to personal and professional development that aims to develop an individual's cognitive, emotional, and practical skills.

Feeling

Heart focuses on a person's emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Thinking

Head focuses on a person's cognitive abilities, including knowledge gathering, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Doing

Hand focuses on a person's practical skills and changing behaviours to increase engagement in sustainable practice.

This approach recognises that disability support planning requires consideration of thoughts and feelings, as well as practical application of these. By focusing on all three areas, the Heart Head Hand approach aims to create a well-rounded and comprehensive planning experience that prepares people for success in their personal and professional lives.
